I’m running for Mayor because I believe in the power of Evanston.
This community changed the course of my life — it invested in me, believed in my potential, and opened doors that made my future possible. I want to ensure every family has those same opportunities.
It has been an honor to have been elected twice as Evanston City Clerk and have served our community for the past five years. As your City Clerk I’ve learned from the inside how our city works…and doesn’t work.
I’ve worked beyond politics with all sides as an effective problem-solver, and I want to bring that knowledge and experience to the office of Mayor to improve how our City works for everyone.
As a young mother, I came to Evanston determined to build a better future for my family. Supported by Evanston’s incredible network of nonprofit organizations, early childhood programs, educators, and neighbors, I earned my BA in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago and built a career dedicated to public service and community advocacy.
I live in Evanston’s 2nd ward with my loving and supportive husband, two teenaged sons, and daughter. I’m grateful that all my children have benefited from Evanston’s public school system.
Since being elected City Clerk in 2021 and reelected in 2025, I’ve worked to modernize City Hall — centralizing citywide records management, restoring Vital Records services locally, overseeing the City’s FOIA and compliance, and improving the Boards, Commissions, and Committees system. There is more to do, and I’m just getting started.
Before serving as Clerk, I worked directly with residents and families — helping prevent homelessness at Connections for the Homeless, leading community outreach for Evanston Latinos, supporting children through Early Intervention services, and advocating for youth at the Moran Center.
We need leadership that understands every part of Evanston — from our neighborhoods and nonprofit community to our schools, library, local businesses, and City government. No one organization can solve our biggest challenges alone. We must strengthen our partnerships with our schools, our nonprofit organizations, businesses, and residents so we can build a stronger future together.
